The second David Moyes era is now two games deep, and Everton fans are feeling optimistic.
The Toffees ran out 3-2 victors over Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend, giving arguably their best performance all season.
Everton dominated Spurs, and raced into a 3-0 lead by half-time.
It was refreshing to see Everton look so much more assured in what they were doing, and actually creating meaningful chances.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin seemed totally rejuvenated against Spurs and impressed Everton fans, scoring his first goal for the club since August.
There were also great performances from the likes of Iliman Ndiaye and Jesper Lindstrom.
It’s one defeat and one win under David Moyes so far, but even against Aston Villa there were signs of improvements and for Seamus Coleman, the appointment of the Scot will surely mean one thing going forward.

Seamus Coleman insists David Moyes will move Everton forward

With the win over Spurs, Everton have now moved on to 20 points taken from their 21 games so far.
Everton are now four points clear of the relegation zone, and fans are starting to feel optimistic having seen how the team have played under Moyes despite him having been in charge for little over a week.
Some were skeptical about Moyes returning, with suggestions being made that he is cut from the same cloth as Sean Dyche.
But the early signs have been good and so Coleman, who signed for Everton during Moyes’ first stint at the club, the appointment was a no-brainer.
For the veteran, Moyes will surely take the club forward now, with the hope being that the club won’t be involved in relegation battles.
He told the Everton’s official website: “The manager has experienced a lot and I’m sure he’s come back here different in terms of having to adapt to how the game evolves – but those basics, the fundamentals, that are so important remain.
“He can definitely move the Club forward again. We don’t want to be surviving every season, we want to be more than that because this football club is more than that. Let’s hope we can get Everton back to what it was. It won’t be easy and it won’t be overnight but we have to put everything we can into it and be together.
“I think the manager will make sure we’re right up for this challenge, and I know he is also someone who values that this is our last run at Goodison and how special that is. He’s had a long history here and he will value how important every game is, for sure.”
Moyes needs backing from The Friedkin Group to take Everton forward
So the early signs have been good since Moyes came in, with Everotn slightly unlucky against Villa, and very good value for the three points against Spurs.
But the manager needs backing from The Friedkin Group, and would suspect he wouldn’t have taken the job if he wasn’t going to get that.
There’s less than two weeks to go before the transfer window closes and Everton are looking at new additions.

It’s been reported The Friedkin Group could hand Moyes up to £40 million to spend on new players this month.
Alan Myers expects a couple of new signings to come in at Everton, and hopefully those new additions will be able to make an instant impact.
There is potential here for the second Moyes era to be really special, given the arrival of new owners and the move to the new stadium from next season. Hopefully, Coleman’s prediction will ring true, and there will be no more battling against relegation.
