Sean Dyche could complete perfect Everton window by signing ‘electric’ player after Jesper Lindstrom

With just under three weeks until Premier League football returns, Everton are doing all they can to ensure they are well-prepared for it.

After all, having finished last season in 15th, well clear of the drop despite two points deductions, things were always bound to be tougher once the bottom three, which were exceptionally low in quality, were replaced.

But, Kevin Thelwell has seemingly identified that, and strengthened appropriately, giving Sean Dyche all the tools he needs to succeed, and hopefully with more to come.

That certainly seems to be the case, and with one new signing imminently inbound, another now not far behind.

Everton complete a deal for Jesper Lindstrom

Having already made three signings, one winger, a forward and a central midfielder, there are still so many positions that need improving.

Whether it is an out-and-out replacement or just added depth, Dyche will know better than most just how threadbare his squad was at the start of the summer.

That likely explains their fast start in the market, and now, with Amadou Onana’s transfer to Aston Villa confirmed, should mark a reignition of that trend.

Everton agreed a deal with Jesper Lindstrom, and an announcement is expected soon.

However, he cannot be the final offensive signing for Thelwell this window if he really wants to rise up the Premier League table.

In fact, there is another well-documented target who he could snag, which would surely perfect his transfer window.

Wilfried Gnonto would complete Everton’s attack

With Lindstrom set to bolster their attack suitably with silky dribbling, and Iliman Ndiaye set to provide a creative spark, Everton’s interest in Wilfried Gnonto should excite Evertonians because he is effectively a blend of the two with added dynamism.

Having only moved to England in 2022, he has already made great strides, recording six goal contributions in the Premier League as a teenager despite their relegation, scoring a further eight Championships goals last season in just 19 starts, and even earning a call-up to the Italy national team too.

An energetic winger who is desperate to get on the ball and attack his full-back, the data backs up this enthralling play style when he is compared to others in his position across the 14 European leagues outside of the top five, via FBref.

For progressive careers per 90, he sits in the top 10%, and for progressive passes received per 90, he also sits in the top 8%. This typifies that desperation to impact the play.

Meanwhile, sitting in the top 6% for non-penalty goals per 90, as well as the top 7% for clearances per 90, his attacking threat and defensive input is further exemplified too.

To add his all-around excellence and blistering speed to an attacking line that already has Dwight McNeil, Jack Harrison, Abdoulaye Doucuore and Dominic Calvert-Lewin in place is a scary prospect.

Gnonto would surely complete their offence and cap off a perfect window for Everton.
