Sean Dyche has come under some pretty intense scrutiny in recent months for how his Everton side are performing.
After all, having lost their opening four Premier League matches and been dumped out of the cup, there was valid cause for concern.
This is a fanbase never afraid to make their feelings known, and as such Goodison Park has remained split on whether the 53-year-old should continue in the job.
Well, having finally claimed that elusive first win, at last he is making steps towards justifying his continued employment.
Sean Dyche reveals half-time team talk vs Crystal Palace
Speaking to the press after his side’s 2-1 win over Crystal Palace, their first of the Premier League season, Sean Dyche remained his usual matter-of-fact self.
After all, he is always keen to reinforce that he never gets too high after a win, and never gets too low after a defeat.

However, whilst he seldom shows it in his press conferences, behind closed doors there is clearly an immense amount of passion exhibited to get what he wants from his players.
Dyche would use that to good effect on Saturday, as he revealed his half-time team talk: “I was explaining to the lads that sometimes in football you’re waiting for someone else to make a difference, and sometimes they do of course.
‘But in a game where no one’s quite making the difference then it’s got to be a collective. So it’s more about that, bringing not just a tactical thing but a feel to an actual performance. That emotional feel to wear the shirt, to get together to play hard and go and win the game.”
Who could Everton replace Sean Dyche with?
Realistically, even if Everton were to sack Dyche, there are very few replacements who would come in for a cut price and make an impact bigger than the one that the current boss can make.
Graham Potter remains one option who is out of work, but his methods would take time to employ. Time that the Toffees do not have.

Another option could be Maurizio Sarri, who seems like more of an option for Dan Friedkin than anything else.
With David Moyes linked to the Crystal Palace job, rumours of an Everton return seem more unlikely now, leaving Dyche as the outstanding candidate for their current plight.
