‘Shocking’… Everton fans blast Abdoulaye Doucoure as ‘calamitous’ Nottingham Forest footage emerges

Everton fell to their seventh Premier League defeat of the season against Nottingham Forest and fans have let rip at one player in particular.

Sean Dyche oversaw positive results against Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City in December.

But against Forest, Everton came up way short.

The defensive solidity of the past couple of months was missing, and Everton just didn’t have the quality in the final third to break Forest down.

Sean Dyche admitted the Everton players did the positive of what he asked of them in the first-half, which was concerning to hear.

It was just an easy game for Forest, who were well organised and then efficient on the counter.

The result leaves Everton just three points above the relegation zone, and plenty of fans are disgruntled right now – both with the players and the manager.

Fans were not happy with Vitaliy Mykolenko following Everton’s defeat to Nottingham Forest, but he wasn’t the only player to be on the receiving end of the fans’ fury.

Fans took aim at Mykolenko especially on the second Forest goal.

But it came from a poor pass from Abdoulaye Doucoure initially.

Mykolenko might have been a bit more reactive, but the ball from the Frenchman split him and James Tarkowski.

It wasn’t a great day at the office overall for Doucoure, who was given just 4/10 for his performance by the Liverpool Echo, who noted he was ‘giving the ball away cheaply’.

So poor from Doucoure

Mykolenko and Tarkowski probably didn’t cover themselves in too much glory on the second Forest goal on Sunday.

But had the pass from Doucoure been better, there would have been no danger.

It was just a poor piece of play from the midfielder, and another really bad day at the office for Everton. Jordan Pickford came in for praise from Pat Nevin. But him aside, no one really played well for the hosts.

Currently, there are too many players who are consistently putting in performances that are nowhere near good enough.

Hopefully, the club can enjoy a strong window first transfer window under The Friedkin Group, because new additions are certainly needed. That said, Dyche recently suggested it’d be a sensible window for Everton, so fans should not expect top players coming in for big money.
