Everton are looking to sign a new striker this summer and reports have indicated Christian Kofane is a new target.
Everton had a really poor finish to the season, finishing 13th in the end after a seven-game winless run.
Now Hackney is confirmed, who should Everton be bringing in next? 💰
Time to take our foot off the brake pedal in the market…
And the Toffees scored 47 goals in total – only five other clubs scored fewer.
Thierno Barry had a difficult first season at times. He did finish the campaign with eight goals to his name, but he regularly frustrated fans with his style.
Beto also came in for criticism, but fans always appreciate his work rate.
Now Everton have been linked with Christian Kofane, but there are a few arguments to suggest he shouldn’t be signed.
Why Everton shouldn’t sign Christian Kofane

Everton have reportedly made an offer for Kofane, who is also wanted by the likes of Arsenal, Newcastle United and Barcelona.
Kofane, a Cameroon international, has enjoyed an exciting rise over the past year or so.
After coming through Albacete’s academy and playing for their first-team, he transferred to Bayer Leverkusen last year and has already made waves in Germany.
In his first season, he scored seven goals and made nine assists in 44 appearances.
But Everton – who need a real killer in front of goal – may actually be better served moving for a striker with more experience and who is more proven.
Yes, Kofane has looked very exciting since coming onto the scene.
But he is still only 19 years old, and will turn 20 in a couple of weeks.

It has also been reported by BILD that a sale would only be considered by Leverkusen if an offer in the region of €100 million were to arrive, which was a figure suggested by one of his advisers earlier this year.
That is a huge amount to pay for one so young, as exciting as his potential is.
Everton do want to bring in young players.
But the striker position is one they absolutely have to get right.
There would be massive expectation on Kofane to be the upgrade on Barry and Beto many want, but he would be coming in with no previous Premier League experience.
We saw Barry find the going tough after arriving in the Premier League, and perhaps Kofane, who is younger, would have the same struggles to adapt.
With Everton still needing to sort out signings for several other positions, paying this kind of money for Kofane would potentially not leave a lot of budget.
There are other players out there who might make more sensible targets.
Taty Castellanos has been linked with Everton, and while some don’t particularly rate him, he has shown he can score goals in the Premier League, having hit seven in half a season for the Hammers.

He would be considerably cheaper than Kofane and actually knows the English game.
Or perhaps there is even an argument to keep faith in Barry, who now has a year of Premier League football under his belt.
But certainly, spending big on Kofane feels a little too risky.
