777 Partners are still awaiting Premier League approval for their takeover of Everton nearly six months after reaching an agreement with Farhad Moshiri.
At the moment, it’s hard to work out what the truth is.
According to the Daily Mail, Everton and 777 have extended their original completion date. There is an understanding between both parties that the saga cannot run beyond the end of March.

There have always been doubts over 777’s source of funding, with over £180million worth of loans already handed to Everton. Furthermore, The Athletic report that the US-based firm are about to have a significant source of their New York funding “turned off”.
Despite the problems, 777 Partners’ chief, Josh Wander, has told talkSPORT’s Jim White that he is confident of a deal.
“I can’t tell them anything yet as the Premier League suggest we don’t let this get to the public,” he said.
When asked if he was confident of a deal, he said, “I am.”
Simon Jordan reacts to Josh Wander comments
Outspoken talkSPORT pundit Simon Jordan has since reacted to Wander’s comments.
“I’ve always maintained the view that you do a deal and talk about it afterwards, whatever the obstacles are, whether they’re structural issues or they’re overcoming the institutional parameters. You do a deal and then announce it,” he told talkSPORT.
“The fact they’re indexed to it already makes it difficult to control because of the nature of the business. My view is, there’s no reason for him not to talk about it, but those that make the most noise tend to do the least amount of business.”
He added: “These guys at 777 trouble me slightly. They’re currently trying to buy Eveton with other people’s money. If you look at their ownership models, none are particularly flourishing.
“These guys, to my mind, aren’t going to spend an ordinate amount of money. It feels like the frying pan to the fire. It’s not their money.”
777 Partners aren’t endearing themselves to Evertonians at present. The lack of clarity, coupled with instances at other clubs, has seen many turn against the potential new owners.
Moshiri’s escape route could lead Everton down an even more challenging path. Only time will tell whether Jordan’s “frying pan to the fire” comment does ring true.
