Everton are back in Premier League action this weekend as they take on Brentford at Goodison Park.

Everton are in desperate need of a victory as they languish in 16th place, just three points above the relegation zone.

Sean Dyche’s men were held to a goalless draw against fellow strugglers West Ham United last time out and they lacked creativity in attack.

Everton fans have called for Dominic Calvert-Lewin to be dropped and Beto isn’t really firing, either, so the recruitment team could dip into the Janaury transfer window for a striker.

With that said, it’s just emerged that the Merseysiders are a possible destination for a really exciting young Brazillian striker.

Everton mooted with move to sign Luighi

Everton have already been credited with an interest in Ernest Nuamah ahead of the Janaury transfer window, so clearly signing an attacker is on their agenda.

The latest link comes in the shape of Luighi, who is a promising young striker for Brazilian outfit Palmeiras.

According to the Daily Mail, Everton are a potential landing spot for the 18-year-old, though, they could face competition from West Ham United and Southampton.

Luighi, who is part of Palmeiras’ ‘one in a billion generation’, has netted 10 times in 22 outings so far this season.

The towering centre-forward has also been capped at youth level by Brazil.

Signing Luighi would be a major risk

Everton need a ready-made number nine this winter and so signing Luigi would be a massive risk given he’s only just broke through in Brazil.

The Toffees must learn from the Chermiti deal and instead opt for a more experienced striker to come in and immediately hit the ground running.

Realistically, if Everton were to sign Luighi, he’d be best off going back on loan to his home country to further his development.
