Everton look set to get their number one target in Tyler Dibling after agreeing a deal with Southampton.

Weeks of frustrating negotiations with the Saints have finally paid off, as Everton saw the Dibling valuation lowered earlier this week.

Having lost the season opener on Monday evening, the Friedkins have backed David Moyes and provided him with a right winger he desired.

Everton have been in the market for a new right winger all summer, and they finally look set to get their man.

On Friday evening, Everton agreed a deal with Southampton for Dibling, which is believed to be worth a total £42m.

The details of the deal have already emerged, and there is one clause which Southampton were adamant they wanted to include.

Southampton include sell-on clause in Tyler Dibling’s Everton deal

Everton beat Tottenham Hotspur to Dibling, with the 19-year-old set to undergo his medical early next week.

It has been a drawn-out transfer saga following an eventual collapse from the Saints in their astronomical valuation of the winger.

According to David Ornstein, Southampton have been insistent that a sell-on clause is included in Dibling’s deal.

The Saints have had to accept they were not going to get the £50m they were asking for, but they have a percentage of any future sale.

Ornstein’s report claims a 20 per cent sell-on clause has been handed to the Championship outfit.

If all goes through without any issues next week, Dibling will become Everton’s second-highest record signing.

It has to be remembered that he is still just 19 years old, but he will have some quality players to learn from at Finch Farm.

Everton have real leaders to help Dibling’s development

When Dibling arrives at Finch Farm, he is going to have the likes of Jack Grealish to help develop his game.

Grealish has already formed a good relationship with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall in training, as the pair look set to take Everton forward.

However, it is not just players in and around Dibling’s position that will be playing a part.

Everton captain Seamus Coleman will welcome Dibling to the club, with the veteran retained over the summer for his leadership skills.

This marks a really exciting signing for Everton, but patience may be needed to see his full potential at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
