Everton are looking forward to next season for more reasons than one, as it’s the start of a new era at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

With Goodison Park now sadly behind them, the new era is set to begin for David Moyes’ side.

The new stadium will hope to bring new faces in, as it’s retained some as well, with Idrissa Gana Gueye experiencing the new stadium.

Many more additions could be intrigued by playing in the new ground, which is no doubt a thing of beauty.

But secretly, Everton’s first official game has been played there in a behind-closed-doors friendly.

First-ever Everton player to score at Hill Dickinson Stadium in secret friendly

It’s expected to be an exciting season for Everton as the stewardship of The Friedkin Group should bring positive vibes, which the club have been lacking.

There is no better manager than Moyes to lead the Toffees into this new era, and it seems as though the first official game for the senior squad was a success.

In a friendly that was slightly undercover, Everton faced League One side Port Vale, as the first team embarked on their first game at the new stadium.

Moyes’ side triumphed in a 2-1 win with James Garner scoring a free kick, but it’s Carlos Alcaraz who will take the headlines, becoming the first-ever scorer in the Hill Dickinson, making history.

It’s worked beautifully that Moyes’ first permanent signing in Alcaraz has also become the first goalscorer of the new chapter.

Everton fans don’t have to wait too long until Hill Dickinson debut

With the first official game taking place with no fans present, that’s all that’s missing now to get this chapter fully up and running.

Alcaraz getting the first goal is great to see as the Argentine looks to really show his worth in his first full season after showing plenty of glimpses in half a campaign.

The 22-year-old could become the next big thing for the Toffees, and it’s the perfect way to start, but fans will be eagerly awaiting the stadium’s official debut in front of the loyal supporters.

It won’t be too long now, as Everton will face The Friedkins’ other club Roma, on Saturday 9th August, in their final pre-season friendly before the Premier League campaign kicks off.

Plenty of praise has been given to Everton’s new stadium, and soon Evertonians will get the place rocking like the Goodison days.
