Sean Dyche has been relieved of his duties at Everton following their poor run of form this season.
The Friedkin Group have acted decisively with concerns surrounding whether Dyche has what it takes to drag them out of their relegation battle.
A replacement for the 53-year-old could already be close to being appointed with Everton offering David Moyes a two-year deal.
Everton’s announcement in sacking Dyche just hours before their FA Cup clash against Peterborough United took many by surprise.
But there was something within the announcement which spoke volumes.

Everton failed to thank Sean Dyche after sacking
Everton outcast Jake O’Brien has shared a cryptic message after Dyche’s sacking as he made an immediate return to the starting XI.
The same cannot be said about the club with the Everton press release failing to thank Dyche for his efforts over the last two years.
It was a very short and simple statement to come out of Merseyside on Thursday afternoon.
And even in the hours to follow, Everton have not shared any comments from the board or the Friedkins in regards to the decision.
Work has clearly been done behind the scenes as Everton have eyed Sir Gareth Southgate among a number of other managerial options.

Farhad Moshiri failed to thank Rafael Benitez after Everton sack
The Friedkins sacking of Dyche has shown a real similarity to that of Rafael Benitez during Farhad Moshiri’s reign.
Just shy of three years ago, the Spaniard was relieved of his duties by the Toffees and the club statement was very similar.
“Everton Football Club can confirm the departure of Rafael Benitez as First Team manager,” read the club statement.
“Benitez, who joined Everton in June 2021, has left the Club with immediate effect.
“An update on a permanent replacement will be made in due course.”
Sean Dyche received a lot of criticism from Everton fans with many likely to be pleased by his sacking.
However, giving him the same send off as Benitez may leave a sour taste for a number of people around the club.
Whether fans liked Dyche or not, he has kept the club up over the last couple of seasons, and it may well be as simple as he had just taken the side as far as he could.
