There were joyous scenes around Goodison Park at the full-time whistle yesterday, as Everton snatched a late point in the Merseyside derby against Liverpool.

James Tarkowski’s 98th-minute leveller sent the Everton faithful into bedlem in what was the final derby at Goodison Park.

The point also moved the Toffees a step closer to Premier League safety, as they now sit 10 points clear of 18th-placed Leicester City.

Though, for all of the positives last night, there was a real downer as Iliman Ndiaye was forced off with what appeared to be a serious injury.

Now, a worrying update has just emerged on the Everton playmaker.

Everton fearing Iliman Ndiaye has suffered ligament damage

Iliman Ndiaye limped off after 25 minutes and judging by his distraught reaction, it appeared to be a serious injury.

Now, it has just come to light, that Ndiaye will undergo a scan today to determine if he has suffered ligament damage, according to the Daily Mail.

Everton are fearful he may have extended his medial ligament, so he will be fully examined over the next two days before a further update on his condition is given.

Though, one thing for certain at this stage is that he’ll miss the trip to the capital this weekend, as the Toffees take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Jack Harrison has to step up in Ndiaye’s absence

Jack Harrison, who replaced Ndiaye last night, looks set for a run in the team on the left flank.

Everton fans have criticized Harrison this season after a number of below-par performances, with some even calling for him to be sent back to his parent club Leeds United.

So evidently, the 28-year-old has to win over a large section of the Goodison faithful over the next few weeks.

Moyes could experiment with Carlos Alcaraz on the left, though, with Jesper Lindstrom on the other flank, Everton would be bereft of pace.

The Everton boss certainly has an obstacle to overcome, here.
