The statistic that shows David Moyes boasts one absolute handful in his Everton team right now

Everton are currently on an impressive run in the Premier League – and one player is proving himself to be an absolute handful.

Everton are currently seven games without defeat in the top-flight.

David Moyes has had a remarkable impact since coming in, and in truth the last two draws against Manchester United and Brentford could – and perhaps both should – have been Everton wins.

But Everton have pulled 15 points clear of the relegation zone, and fans can now have a comfortable end to the season – something that didn’t seem at all possible while Sean Dyche was still in charge.

Arguably, one of the biggest oversights Dyche made at Everton this season was not giving enough opportunities to Beto.

Beto has been a man transformed under Moyes – and now, a very impressive statistic has emerged about the Guinea-Bissau international.

Beto has found a new lease of life at Goodison Park since Moyes came in.

The star barely got a look in under Dyche, who insisted on persisting with an out-of-form Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Calvert-Lewin and Armando Broja have both been sidelined with injuries recently, allowing Beto to finally get a proper run in the team.

And he’s certainly not let his manager down so far.

He was wasteful against Brentford earlier this week. But February was a great month for Beto, who scored five goals – only Mo Salah scored more in the Premier League.

But potentially, the most impressive stat of all is that Beto won 45 duels in the Premier League in February – the most of any top-flight player by far.

This just shows how much of a handful Beto has been recently, and he’s clearly someone centre-backs are having difficulty playing against at this moment in time.

The player in second place is John McGinn with 36.

Also making an appearance in the top 10 is Beto’s Everton teammate Idrissa Gana Gueye, who made 34.

Beto nearly left Everton before recent turnaround

It was a hugely impressive month from Beto, a player who may well have actually left the club had it not been for The Friedkin Group’s appointment of Moyes.

Beto admitted last month that he nearly left Everton, suggesting he only stayed because Dyche was replaced by Moyes.

Beto was constantly linked with Torino throughout January. And recently, Torino were said to be gutted they didn’t sign Beto.

Everton fans are certainly now delighted that he stayed.

Beto is a very easy player to get behind given his passion for his craft and how he talks about the club and what the support of the fans means to him.

He is a potential cult hero in the making, and hopefully, his good form under Moyes continues for as long as possible.
