Plenty of reports will come out in the next week about Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s Everton future.

The clock is ticking in terms of Calvert-Lewin’s time on Merseyside as David Moyes has a huge decision to make.

It will be the 30th June when the striker could officially be released from Everton as the 28-year-old has a monumental six days.

Calvert-Lewin may have failed to agree a contract, as The Friedkin Group might be inclined to release him after a prolonged breakdown in talks.

On the other hand, Calvert-Lewin wants to stay, but now it’s very clear he has options on the table this summer.

Two clubs want Dominic Calvert-Lewin as Everton countdown nears

Moyes might be reluctant to keep hold of a striker who is known for his injury problems.

On the other hand, Calvert-Lewin on his day can be one of the best strikers in the league, and has shown that promise this season despite setbacks.

This could quite easily be a reason for Moyes to keep hold of the striker, but now clubs are snooping around as the countdown is on.

With the 28-year-old leaving the club at this moment in time, The i Paper has reported that both Leeds United and West Ham have made ‘preliminary contact’ for Calvert-Lewin.

It’s said that nothing has progressed aside from the original phone call that took place with the striker’s camp.

Calvert-Lewin should leave as Everton prepare for striker transfer

Should Calvert-Lewin even opt to stay for another season, it’s obvious that Moyes will want another striker.

Despite Beto coming into his own and finding the form that he has desperately been lacking, there were still shades of ‘old Beto’ during Moyes’ resurgence.

This has led to concrete links with Thierno Barry who could join Everton for £33m, and ultimately sends the message to Calvert-Lewin that he won’t be the main man anymore.

To sign a player of Barry’s potential seems to be the route the Friedkins are taking, and it doesn’t bode well for Calvert-Lewin, and he may well be better off jumping ship to Leeds or West Ham.
