Everton are expected to sign a centre-back this summer.
With Jarrad Branthwaite’s injury struggles this season, it’s become apparent that they cannot rely on him, unfortunately.
Everton will have to go into the market and recruit a top-class defender who has a clean bill of health.
How do you feel about bringing Richarlison home in the summer? 🇧🇷
He absolutely loves the Blues! 🐦
The Toffees have looked at Marcos Senesi at Bournemouth, but there is significant interest in his signature.
They were also very keen on a left-footed defender in the Championship last year, and now a Sky Sports report has claimed that two unnamed Premier League clubs are showing an interest in signing him this summer.
It’s very possible that one of those clubs is Everton.

Everton may be keen on signing Maxime Esteve again
Maxime Esteve was Everton’s number one target to replace Branthwaite last summer, if indeed the Toffees star left.
Ultimately, Branthwaite penned a new deal, so the club decided not to pursue a deal for the Burnley centre-back.
However, it seems Moyes and his recruitment chiefs may have reignited their interest in Esteve.
“Two clubs in the Premier League are also keen on the left-footed centre-back, (Esteve),” Sky Sports journalist Lyall Thomas stated.
“Burnley are believed to be open to discussing his exit due to their relegation to the Championship.”
How would you feel about Romelu Lukaku returning to Everton? 🫣
Does he still have it in him? 😬
Given how highly thought of Esteve is around Everton, with Moyes even personally scouting him last season, it’s fair to make a calculated judgment that he may be back on their radar.
Tottenham Hotspur were also interested last summer, so they may be the other club that Thomas is referring to.
It was reported that Burnley wanted £50m to sanction Esteve’s signature, however, they are no longer in a good position to negotiate his fee.
It wouldn’t at all be surprising if the Toffees managed to agree a deal in the region of £30m.
