Everton are now set to secure the signing of Thierno Barry from Villarreal.
The Friedkins have already landed their first summer signing for Everton in the shape of Carlos Alcaraz, but signing number two is soon to be complete.
Coming into the summer window, Everton were focusing on a new striker signing, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin departing as a free agent.
David Moyes will be delighted to see a new goal threat added to his options which have taken a real hit in recent weeks.
Barry has landed on Merseyside to complete his medical at Finch Farm, with the transfer finally close to being completed.
Having jetted in from Miami, it would seem the youngster may have been struggling with jet lag as he shared an early-morning message on Instagram.

Thierno Barry shares Villarreal farewell ahead of Everton transfer
Barry approved a move to Everton a couple of weeks ago now despite the prospect of playing Champions League football with Villarreal.
Having played in the U21 Euros with France, Barry enjoyed a week in Miami, but business calls as his move to Merseyside needed to be sealed.
In the very early hours of Wednesday morning, Barry shared his farewell message to Villarreal and their fans ahead of his move to Everton being announced.
“Hello, Groguets family. It has been an immense honor to wear this shirt. Thank you for the love you’ve given me since day one, with that beautiful memory of my first goal in the stadium. That’s what gave me the strength to go out and fight for you every weekend,” he said.
“I want to thank my teammates for giving me an incredible year, full of joy and the wonderful people I’ve met within the club and the team.
“I thank the manager for having trusted me from the first call we had, which convinced me to come to Villarreal. Thanks to him, I have progressed as a player and as a person, and now I even speak a little Spanish!
“It has been a crazy adventure that has led us to qualify for the Champions League, and I hope the team goes far in this competition. See you later!”
It is now time for Everton fans to get excited, with an announcement surely expected in the coming hours.

Everton finally land Thierno Barry as their new striker
The battle will soon start for the starting spot up top under Moyes, with Everton players already back in pre-season training.
Moyes will be thrilled to see Barry arrive in time to have an opportunity to settle in to his new home before Everton jet off to the United States.
A big summer lies ahead for both Barry and the Blues, but Everton are set for a seriously busy summer, which means they cannot afford to dwell on the addition of their new striker.
For Angus Kinnear, it is going to have to be on to the next signing given the sheer volume of players needed at Finch Farm.
No official confirmation has come yet from the club, but Barry’s announcement on Instagram will be just the wake-up call all Everton fans will have dreamt of.
