Everton shelled out in excess of £100m in the summer transfer window, signing nine new players.

The Friedkin Group really backed David Moyes and even paid the £40m Southampton wanted for Tyler Dibling.

Dibling was the most expensive recruit and is actually among the record buys in Everton’s history, so clearly Moyes had the full belief of the new ownership.

Although, the teenage winger hasn’t really got going on Merseyside, with Moyes hardly giving him any opportunities.

Other recruits like Merlin Rohl and Thierno Barry haven’t worked out so far either, and with that said, Tim Iroegbunam has now given his verdict on the summer signings.

Tim Iroegbunam says the summer signings have brought life to Everton

Speaking to Everton’s website, Iroegbunam has explained that the new summer signings are big characters and have really added to the dressing room.

“I feel like (the new players brought in over the summer have) come in and they’re quite big characters, so they’ve brought more energy and life to the changing room,” Iroegbunam admitted.

“They’ve settled in quickly and obviously they’re good people, so I feel like they get on with everyone. We’re still like a close-knit family, almost.

“We’ve still got the other senior players, such as Skip (Seamus Coleman) and Tarks (James Tarkowski). There’s Gana, and obviously (the new players have) got experience themselves, so they’ve come in and they’ve adapted well.

“They’ve even implemented a few of their own things they’ve learnt through experience. I don’t feel like we’ve lost anything there.”

Tim Iroegbunam reveals Everton goals this season

Iroegbunam also discussed what Everton’s goal is this season and noted that Moyes has been eyeing up the European spots in team meetings.

“Well, as a club, we have high standards,” the former Aston Villa midfielder said.

“Obviously, we want to get into those places in Europe. So, that’s the big thing everyone’s been talking about.

Do Everton have what it takes to make it back to Europe…

“I really hope I can earn the opportunity to get back into European football here at Everton.”

“The table is very tight at the moment. Everyone wants to play in Europe, but from the first few days of the season, we had a meeting and just spoke about how many points we need to get into those top spaces, so we’re all working towards that.”

The Toffees currently sit ninth in the Premier League table but are just two points adrift from fifth-placed Chelsea.

So, they’re well-placed to achieve their European goals.
