Tony Bellew firmly believes Everton would have qualified for Europe if they had Ivan Toney playing up front for them.

The final day of the season is just around the corner for Everton, with Sunday’s trip to Tottenham drawing a close to the 2025/26 campaign.

David Moyes will already have one eye on the summer market having seen a number of areas struggle throughout the season on Merseyside.

Tony Bellew thinks Ivan Toney would drastically improve Everton

Everton hold an interest in Toney as a potential option to bolster their striker department over the summer.

Speaking on the Outside The Box podcast, Bellew named Toney as the striker he would love to see at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

“Like I say, if we have Ivan Toney in our team. I don’t care who says what, Ivan Toney starting for Everton every week. Everton are in the top six now,” he said.

“Those draws turn into wins. Some of those losses are turned into draws. It’s quite simple.”

The England international has spent some time away from the Premier League with Al-Ahli in the Saudi Pro League.

Across all competitions, Toney has scored 42 goals in 49 appearances for the Saudi side this season.

Toney has not rejected a possible return to England, but it would remain to be seen what level of side he would look to return to.

Currently, Everton are unable to offer any of their summer targets European football ahead of next season.

A player of Toney’s calibre may well seek an opportunity exclusively with a club that could provide him with some level of European football.
