Everton manager David Moyes may finally feel some justice following the PGMOL’s decision to remove Michael Salisbury from duty this weekend.
It is the final weekend of the 2025/26 Premier League season and Everton will be glad to see the back of it after a run of six games without victory.
Moyes has been left furious over some refereeing decisions of late, which have certainly cost the Toffees in their race for Europe.
For the last time this season, let us know your prediction ahead of Sunday’s game…
Could Everton really send Spurs down? 😳
Salisbury was at the heart of Everton’s penalty rejection against West Ham, with the official on VAR failing to award a handball against Mateus Fernandes.

Michael Salisbury removed by PGMOL amid Everton error
The Premier League KMI panel agreed Everton deserved a penalty in the game at the London Stadium, with VAR making a clear mistake on the day.
In the weeks since that decision, Salisbury has failed to cover himself in glory, having allowed a clear handball from Bryan Mbeumo as Manchester United beat Nottingham Forest at the weekend.
Where will Everton be in the table by 6pm on Sunday afternoon? 🥲
The Blues could finish as low as 14th… 😫
During the selection process for this weekend’s officials, Salisbury has been omitted and will watch the action from home.
Moyes will be pleased to see some action is finally being taken against specific officials who are becoming repeat offenders when it comes to game-defining decisions.
Everton received another apology from PGMOL chief Howard Webb after he admitted Bernardo Silva should have been penalised for his grappling of Merlin Rohl.
It has not been a good season for the officials, who have certainly not done their reputation any favours through some of their shocking decisions.
Next up for Everton is a trip to Tottenham Hotspur, where Michael Oliver will be holding the cards and Paul Tierney on VAR duty.
It was Oliver who was recently in charge of the game against Man City, which saw Everton denied the penalty for the foul on Rohl from the corner.
With so much on the line for Spurs, there will be an expectation for the officials to be on top form in north London.
