David Moyes splits opinions among Everton supporters.
Many feel Moyes should’ve been sacked at the end of last season, as Everton completely collapsed in the race for Europe.
The Toffees boss was heavily criticised for his team selections and the lack of trust placed in some of the talented youngsters at the club.
Everton showing an interest in Jacob Murphy… does that inspire you Toffees fans? 🤔
But, The Friedkin Group have decided to stick with him and allow him to see out the final year of his contract.
That said, Tyrique George’s latest comments show exactly why he was brought back to the club and the positive work he’s done since returning.
Tyrique George speaks highly of Everton’s culture
When Sean Dyche was nearing the end of his Everton tenure, there was a really damp mood around Finch Farm.
The culture needed a reset, and Moyes made it his aim to bring back the community feel around the training ground when he returned.
Clearly, the Scotsman has been successful in that aim, as George has just touched on the club’s positive culture.
Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, George stated: “When I was told I could come back I just wanted to come back because I love the club, it’s a great club.
“Everyone was just so welcoming and really nice. I loved it when I was on the pitch, I enjoyed myself… I wanted to come back. I just thought it would be the right environment for me to come to.”
Whatever you think of Moyes, it’s undeniable that he’s laid strong foundations at the club and made it a great environment for players and staff.
Moyes outers… is there anything he can do to change your mind? 🤔
If the 63-year-old does depart next year, he will have left the club in a much better place than Dyche, so it has turned out to be a really sensible appointment by The Friedkins.
Hopefully, Moyes addresses some of his flaws and guides the club back into Europe this season.
That’s probably the only way he gets a new contract.
