Everton manager David Moyes still needs a new right-back with the 2025/26 season inching closer.
Everton have made steady progress so far this summer in terms of new signings.
So far, it’s three new faces in the form of Thierno Barry, Mark Travers and Adam Aznou, and Carlos Alcaraz has turned his loan move to the club permanent.
As part of the recent exodus at Everton, Ashley Young left the club at the end of his contract.
Right-back is one position Everton have been looking at and now, the club could be about to make an effort to land a highly rated player from La Liga.
Everton weighing up move for Sevilla star Juanlu Sanchez

At the start of the summer, Everton thought they had their right-back solution.
Everton reached an agreement to sign Kenny Tete, whose contract at Fulham was expiring.
Everything appeared to be on track, but Everton then lost out with Fulham offering improved terms to Tete.
The Dutchman ended up staying put, and that set Everton back.
Since then, the Toffees still haven’t landed an alternative, but that could potentially change soon with TEAMtalk reporting amongst others that Everton are interested in Juanlu Sanchez of Sevilla.
Everton are said to be considering a bid for Sanchez, who is also courting interest from Wolves and Napoli.
Sanchez – who won a gold medal with Spain at the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024 – is a very versatile player, and is able to operate as a right-back, right wing-back and even in central midfield.
The four-cap Spain international is currently on right-back shortlist of three players for Everton, with Ainsley Maitland-Niles of interest.
Everton also like James Justin of Leicester City as well, and fans hope one of these players can be signed as quickly as possible.
Sanchez could be a very handy player for Everton and David Moyes
Hopefully Everton will get involved here in the form of an actual bid, because Sanchez is a player who could be really handy for David Moyes.
Last season, we saw how the Everton system became quite fluid under Moyes, with the formation sometimes using wing-backs.
Jake O’Brien would play as a right-back, and then when Everton didn’t have the ball, Jesper Lindstrom would serve as a wing-back with O’Brien tucking inside.
Sanchez would be comfortable operating as a wing-back, but also as a standard right-back or winger.
Quite possibly, he could be a dream for Moyes tactically, and give the Everton manager several different options.
And the 21-year-old also being capable of playing central is just another attraction.
It is stated by TEAMtalk that Sanchez could cost in the region of £13 million and, that does seem like it could be a reasonable outlay for a player of such versatility and also promise.
