Everton are now looking to ramp up their efforts in this summer’s transfer window.

David Moyes pushed for more signings again in a public showing last week as the 62-year-old already endures injury issues during pre-season.

The departures in June at Everton meant there was always going to be a big task on Angus Kinnear’s hands after his move from Leeds United.

But Moyes has now travelled to the United States for the pre-season tour with just two new faces to show for the summer dealings on Merseyside.

Everton have been urged to sign new full-backs by Moyes already, and this finally looks as if it is being worked on.

In the coming hours, Adam Aznou will have his Everton medical and the Toffees are now pushing for a move to sign Ainsley Maitland-Niles.

Everton keen to sign Ainsley Maitland-Niles from Lyon

Jarrad Branthwaite has already suffered an injury, an issue to Michael Keane and James Tarkowski’s rehabilitation has left Everton’s options at right-back limited.

With Jake O’Brien forced to return to his natural position, a new right-back is on the radar.

According to Sky Sports, Everton are now showing an interest in Maitland-Niles.

The Toffees are eyeing the 27-year-old who has two years remaining on his current deal.

Financial issues at the Ligue 1 side are forcing John Textor into sanctioning some major sales this summer.

Everton also have an interest in Malick Fofana, but it is already proving to be a difficult deal to potentially pull off.

There is a lot of work needing to be done this summer at Everton, but Maitland-Niles may already have opened the door to a Premier League return.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles is keen to return to the Premier League

According to a report from earlier this year, L’Equipe believe Maitland-Niles is ‘nostalgic’ about a return to the Premier League.

The report claims Lyon are going to be forced into sales this summer and Maitland-Niles is a candidate to leave.

Knowing the player is keen to make a return to England will be a huge boost for Everton who have found it difficult to land some of their targets already.

Everton hope their new stadium will attract players over the coming weeks, but the prospect of regular Premier League football could be a big attraction for the former Arsenal man.
