Everton’s new owners have a big decision to make on the future of their own manager following a difficult result on the weekend.

Sean Dyche’s side were brought swiftly back down to earth on Sunday with their four-game unbeaten run brought to an end by Nottingham Forest.

Following the takeover, Dyche has shared the Friedkins’ support shown to him during their first meeting at Finch Farm.

But the results this season have not been good enough and Everton are sitting dangerously close to the relegation zone after this weekend’s games.

Although Dyche may not be setting the league alight, a recent development has shown Farhad Moshiri may have gotten away with what would’ve been a huge error.

Wayne Rooney sacked by Plymouth Argyle following Everton rejection

Everton may be eyeing Max Allegri to potentially replace Dyche, but the Italian is waiting until the summer to make up his mind on his future.

However, the Toffees may have escaped a real potential Moshiri mistake with Wayne Rooney having just been sacked by Plymouth Argyle.

Having only been appointed back in May, the former Everton striker has been relieved of his duties with Argyle sat rock bottom of the Championship.

This comes after Rooney rejected Everton after they approached his agent as he felt he was not ready to manage in the Premier League.

And how that has certainly proven to be the case with Rooney having now been sacked twice in this calendar year.

Farhad Moshiri could have relegated Everton with Rooney

The last few years have not provided Everton fans with a great deal to cheer having narrowly avoided relegation.

Dyche may not have wowed everyone, but Gary Lineker believes Dyche will keep Everton up this season despite their struggles.

However, had Rooney been handed the job at Goodison Park, then who knows where the Toffees would be with the 39-year-old having failed with his latest managerial roles.

To be fair to Rooney, he was aware that he was not ready to take on a managerial role in the top flgiht.

But to have even been approached by Moshiri shows a real level of incompetence from the former Everton owner.
