Everton held Premier League title challengers Manchester City to a score draw last night.

It was a thrilling game at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, as Everton were 3-1 up against Pep Guardiola’s side at one point.

David Moyes blamed Michael Keane and James Tarkowski for the draw, as they were massively at fault for Erling Haaland’s goal, which changed the momentum.

How do you even begin to explain that? 😫

Everton have conceded late on AGAIN… 😡

Despite the disappointing result in the end, there were lots of positives for the Toffees to take into the final three games of the season.

Reflecting on the clash, Wayne Rooney actually made an interesting point about the atmosphere at the 52,000-seater stadium.

Wayne Rooney says Hill Dickinson Stadium atmosphere is different to Goodison Park

Everton’s home form has been poor this season, which has led many to criticise the atmosphere at the new stadium compared to Goodison Park.

However, speaking on the Wayne Rooney Show, the Toffees icon suggested the atmosphere is actually even better on the docks.

“Everton away for Man City is always going to be a difficult game,” Rooney stated.

Another penalty decision not going in Everton’s favour? 🫣

Bernardo Silva wasn't even looking at the ball 🤷‍♂️

“And I’ve really loved the atmosphere at the new stadium. So in the big games, the atmosphere, even when they come out to Z cars in the evening games and they have a little bit of a light show and stuff, it’s a little bit different to what they had at Goodison Park.

“So I just felt this could be a tricky game. It turns out that City weren’t at their best, a couple of mistakes and this is what happens.”

Earlier this season, Iliman Ndiaye admitted he gets more energy from the crowd at the Hill Dickinson, so clearly he agrees with Rooney’s point.

“It’s new, it’s modern and it has everything,” Ndiaye explained.

“We get more fans inside and it definitely gives you more energy for your performance as a player. I’ve felt it. You properly feel it, especially when it gets going. That’s what you want.”
