Everton have seen a number of managers come and go over recent years but there is one who Wayne Rooney thinks did an excellent job in the circumstances.
Under David Moyes, things are looking much more positive as the Blues hope to do something special this season.
Perhaps the biggest positive is that even if Everton are unable to secure a spot in the European places, there are no concerns that there will be a relegation battle towards the end of the season.
In recent days, Luka Modric has waxed lyrical about former Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti, who loved his spell on Merseyside.
The Italian is just one of the many great managers to work at Goodison Park.
And there is one who Rooney believes does not get the credit he deserves after surprising him by how good he was.

What Wayne Rooney has said about former Everton manager Sam Allardyce
When Rooney returned to Merseyside, the manager in charge was Ronald Koeman, but he did eventually play under Sam Allardyce.
In recent weeks, Allardyce has admitted Everton were harsh to sack him after just six months.
Speaking on The Wayne Rooney Show, alongside the 71-year-old manager, the England legend shared what surprised him so much about Allardyce.
“No, I think I’ve said before that what really surprised me is the detail that Sam went into and and I don’t think he gets the credit he deserves for that,” said Rooney.
“We talk about you know the science of football now, but it actually really opened my eyes seeing how much Sam went into detail.”
Although the former Everton forward waxed lyrical about the 71-year-old, Rooney has admitted he refused Allardyce’s training methods during his return to Finch Farm.
Allardyce’s time at Everton was certainly short-lived, but it is telling to hear Rooney speak so well of the manager who was so quickly moved on to land Marco Silva.
Sam Allardyce’s Everton record
Ironically, Allardyce regretted not making Rooney captain sooner during his time at Goodison Park.
The 40-year-old did only play 20 times across all competitions under Allardyce before his time was cut short and replaced by Silva.
Is Rooney right? Does Sam Allardyce deserve more credit for his time at Everton? 😬
Allardyce had only lost one of his final six games in the Premier League, yet the decision was made to move on from the veteran manager.
Even Duncan Ferguson said Everton were wrong to sack Allardyce so soon following the solid return he provided.
