David Moyes really wanted to sign a striker during the January transfer window.
After injuries to Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Armando Broja, David Moyes publicly stated that he wanted a centre-forward before the deadline.
However, ultimately, the Friedkin Group decided against outlaying a sizable fee just to be cautious of PSR.
Moyes was content with that and now he’s expected to be backed with a substantial budget in the summer window.
A striker will indeed be at the top of their priorities and it wouldn’t at all be surprising if Everton tried to sign one of Moyes’ long-term targets.
However, he’s now wanted by a quartet of Premier League clubs putting the Toffees on the backfoot.

Yuri Alberto now wanted by four Premier League clubs
Moyes has been tracking Yuri Alberto for years and tried to sign him when he was at West Ham United on a couple of occasions.
The Corinthians striker has continued to impress, netting 60 goals in 158 appearances for the Brazilian giants.
Now aged 23, it seems he could be ready to make the move to the Premier League and is now being chased by four Premier League clubs.
According to Calcio Mercato, West Ham, Nottingham Forest, Wolves and Bournemouth are all pursuing a deal for the £28m-rated centre-forward.
Inter Milan also keeping tabs on Alberto
Serie A titans Inter Milan are also showing a serious interest in Alberto and have added him to their shortlist ahead of the summer transfer window.
So clearly, if Everton do enter the race for the 23-year-old, they’ll have to fend off stiff competition for his signature.
Moyes has also held a long-term interest in Lille striker Jonathan David, so perhaps they could turn to him, too.
A telling summer window awaits for Everton ahead of their move to the new stadium on Bramley-Moore Dock.
