Everton have suffered yet another injury blow to Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

David Moyes’ men travelled down to the south coast on Saturday where they faced Brighton & Hove Albion.

It was a difficult start to the game for Everton, with the hosts dominating, but it was quickly made even more testing.

Around 13 minutes into the game, Calvert-Lewin was removed with the striker going down holding his hamstring.

Calvert-Lewin wowed the Everton fans last week after he found the back of the net in the win over Tottenham Hotspur.

But he now looks set for more time on the sidelines with yet another injury.

David Moyes shares Dominic Calvert-Lewin injury latest at Everton

Calvert-Lewin’s Everton future remains in doubt with the striker failing to ink a new contract ahead of the summer.

And his latest injury issue may just put his long-term future on Merseyside under even more scrutiny.

It is a continuous story for the 28-year-old and speaking after the game, Moyes shared his understanding of the striker’s injury.

Moyes admitted in his post-match press conference that the injury sustained to Calvert-Lewin is a hamstring issue, as suspected.

The bigger issue lies in Moyes claiming the injury is viewed as a ‘genuine concern’.

This could propel the Toffees into the market with Everton already keen to sign a new striker this month.

Everton are keen on Ajax striker Brian Brobbey who is already in the country over a potential Premier League move.

Everton cannot sell Beto this month

Beto has received strong interest from Torino in this winter window with a possibility of a Serie A return on the cards.

However, the 26-year-old is now Moyes’ only fit senior striker at the club and that will surely write off the possibility of an exit.

Everton are discussing terminating Armando Broja’s loan as talks are ongoing with Chelsea.

Regardless of how long Calvert-Lewin is out for, Saturday has shown just how much of a risk it would have been offloading Beto this month.

Beto was angered by Moyes not selecting him in his opening two games, the striker will now be preparing for a run in the side.
