Everton striker Beto turned out to be the hero Goodison Park was asking for on the weekend with his equalising goal against Fulham.

Sean Dyche was forced to look to his bench for some inspiration with Everton leaving it late to secure a point against the Cottagers.

However, Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s replacement only need 10 minutes before finding the back of the net to keep Everton’s unbeaten run going.

James Tarkowski has been impressed by Beto’s work ethic behind the scenes at Finch Farm despite not being a regular starter.

And it seems there is a common trend among those within the club surrounding Beto’s role at the club following a tricky spell in England.

What Everton staff are saying about Beto behind the scenes

According to The Athletic, some within Everton still feel Dyche could have a real player in Beto if he is able to show some consistency.

The report also suggests that there is even a sense in the wider game that there is more to come from the Portuguese striker.

However, there is still a feeling that Everton would be open to selling Beto in January if his form is not to improve over the coming weeks.

Dyche is said to have unwavering support for Calvert-Lewin which could prove a real problem for Beto breaking into the starting XI.

But if the former England international does not improve his own form then Dyche may have no other choice but to try something different.

Everton set for Armando Broja injury boost

It is not just Calvert-Lewin who Beto may find himself battling it out with for a spot in the starting XI over the new few weeks.

Summer signing Armando Broja is now closing in on a return from injury after joining on loan from Chelsea in the summer with an issue.

And there is a believed excitement inside Everton about Broja’s return with the Albania international offering a fresh option in what has been a struggling Toffees attack.

Ahead of the game against Southampton on the weekend, Dyche is certainly left with an intriguing decision to make on whether to start Beto or Calvert-Lewin.
