Everton pulled off a brilliant but gritty performance as they won 1-0 against Brighton which left Seagulls’ fans in head loss.

The Toffees are loving life under David Moyes as the Scotsman has guided Everton away from the relegation zone now having a seven-point gap.

Everton have come on leaps and bounds since Moyes said he was embarrassed by Everton’s decline as they have secured back-to-back wins for the first time this season.

Illiman Ndiaye’s goal from the spot was the difference as Brighton fans applauded Ndiaye after his celebration.

However, the Seagulls fans weren’t happy to say the least after the full-time whistle.

What Brighton fans shouted at Everton staff in ‘head loss’

Everton’s performance was an astute display as the Toffees are now in a brilliant position in the Premier League.

It was a defensive performance as Everton only had two shots on target, one being the penalty from Ndiaye.

In Brighton’s case they can’t criticise too much, as Fabian Hurzeler’s side only had the one shot faced by Jordan Pickford, despite this, they were enraged at the Everton staff for how Moyes’ side conducted the game.

Journalist, Patrick Boyland revealed what the Brighton supporters were fuming at, declaring their anger at the staff members of the Toffees.

“Brighton fans fuming on the way out. Telling Everton staff in the press box that they’re ’embarrassing’. ‘How do you watch this every week’ says another. Complete head loss from some.”

Brighton may be disappointed at Everton penalty decision

Paul Merson predicted a ‘reality check’ for Everton and it was the complete opposite, if anything Brighton were the ones who received the claim.

It’s a situation where you look at it and think, what have Everton done wrong with the performance.

A team struggling in the Premier League with a brilliant defensive display at a tricky away ground is nothing to be ashamed of.

Brighton fans may feel they were hard done by with the penalty decision, but Joel Veltman clearly handballed it and there aren’t really any complaints.

Everton’s approach to the game was simple and it was effective, they deserve their plaudits.
