Everton attention will now be fully focused on their trip to the south coast this weekend where they will face Brighton & Hove Albion.
David Moyes got his first win back on Merseyside under his belt on Sunday in an emphatic victory over Tottenham Hotspur.
Two late goals conceded did flatter the visitors on the scoreline as Everton dominated the game from the go.
| Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
| 16 | 21 | 4 | 8 | 9 | 18 | 28 | -10 | 20 |
However, Moyes is still looking for Everton to sign some players this month as the Friedkins are yet to complete their first transfer deal.
Despite the impressive win over Tottenham, Everton are still lingering around the wrong end of the table.
The Toffees have opened up a four-point cushion on Ipswich Town holding the final relegation spot, but things can quickly turn in the space of a weekend.

Paul Merson shares his Brighton vs Everton prediction
Rewind just a week and Paul Merson predicted Tottenham to beat Everton as he expected the Lilywhites to have too much for the Toffees.
That is one prediction he won’t want to look back on.
And, once again, speaking to Sportskeeda, Merson has predicted a landslide victory for Brighton with the Sky Sports pundit expecting Moyes to be handed a reality check.
“Brighton are starting to click now. They played well against Manchester United and got the win like I expected them to. I think they will follow that up with a strong reality check for Everton here!” Merson said.
“David Moyes still has a lot of work to do if Everton need to stay up, but they won’t be needing a lot of wins considering the teams around them in the relegation battle.
“Wolves were atrocious the other day and I have a feeling Everton will be safe, but they must not get carried away.”
Merson has criticised Everton’s appointment of Moyes as Sean Dyche’s replacement earlier in the year, as he continues to write off Everton.
The Toffees proved him wrong last weekend and will be out to prove him wrong yet again on Saturday.
Everton’s recent record away to Brighton
Moyes made some interesting changes on the weekend with Jake O’Brien impressing from right-back against Tottenham in his first league start for the club.
And then there was the return of Dominic Calvert-Lewin to the scoresheet as he netted his first goal since September.
| Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
| 9 | 22 | 8 | 10 | 4 | 35 | 30 | 5 | 34 |
Brighton are coming into the game in solid form after a strong season so far, but Everton hold an encouraging recent record at the Amex Stadium.
| Season | Score | Result |
|---|---|---|
| 23/24 | 1-1 | D |
| 22/23 | 1-5 | W |
| 21/22 | 0-2 | W |
| 20/21 | 0-0 | D |
Three points for Everton on the weekend could potentially take them seven clear of the drop zone, which could only lead to the Toffees looking upwards under Moyes.
