Everton picked up their first Premier Legaue victory of the season on Saturday afternoon as they defeated Crystal Palace 2-1.
Dwight McNeil was the star of the show for Everton as he netted two second-half goals to turn the game around.
The Toffees moved out of the relegation zone and up to 15th, easing the pressure off Sean Dyche, who had been linked with the exit door.
Speaking to Dyche after the game, Gary Lineker admitted he could sense something in the former Burnley boss.

Gary Lineker said he could sense Sean Dyche’s relief
Speaking on The Rest Is Football podcast, Lineker said he could sense Dyche’s relief when speaking to him post-match.
“I spoke to Sean Dyche down the line after the game, did our interview for Match of the Day, and I think you could feel the kind of relief and also new ownership possibly coming in this week which, all of a sudden, the world’s a slightly better place for fans of Everton.”
Gareth Southgate had been linked with the Everton job but that talk is set to be put on hold for now whilst Dyche appears to turn things around on Merseyside.
The Toffees currently sit one point above the relegation zone.
Everton have a favourable run
After a tough start, Everton now have a favourable run of games leading up until December.
- Newcastle United (H)
- Ipswich Town (A)
- Fulham (H)
- Southampton (A)
- West Ham United (A)
- Brentford (H)
Three wins from that run of six would be a good return and it’d likely put them well clear of danger heading into the festive period.
Things are looking a lot brighter on Merseyside.
