Everton have been left stunned again by another bizarre refereeing decision to send Michael Keane off against Wolves.

David Moyes was left absolutely furious with referee Tom Kirk after he witnessed his side end the game with just nine men on the pitch.

There can be absolutely no qualms over Jack Grealish’s sending off, with the experienced figure simply losing his head.

However, Everton fans and players alike were left perplexed with the decision to send Keane off for pulling the hair of Tolu Arokodare.

Leon Osman was amazed by Keane’s sending off, with Everton now set to be without their defender for the next three games.

On the back of the draw against Wolves, James Tarkowski shared exactly what the victim, Arokodare, said about the incident.

What Wolves striker Tolu Arokodare admitted about Michael Keane’s red card

Keane had only just returned from injury for Everton at the weekend and he is already set for another stint on the sidelines.

The last month or so has been incredibly harsh on Everton, with the Blues slipping down the table as the number of absent players continues to rise.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Tarkowski shared exactly what Arokodare said after having his hair pulled by Keane.

What on earth is the referee thinking here? 😡

ANOTHER shocking decision against Everton!

“I even spoke to the lad after the game and he said he wasn’t asking for a red card,” said Tarkowski.

“He just felt the pull on his hair and was asking for a foul, so even he didn’t think it was violent conduct. And now if that decision stays, it’s a three match ban for something which is absolutely nothing.”

The one positive for Everton was Harrison Armstrong’s impressive performance on his first start in the Premier League.

As another player is set to watch the coming games from the sidelines, Everton will surely have to consider their options in the transfer market.

Everton simply must appeal Michael Keane’s red card

This was Kirk’s first time refereeing Everton and it may well be his last for some time on the back of that performance.

To his credit, he stood his ground with Grealish, who was fully deserving of his second yellow card.

Sum that up for us… 😡

Cannot believe how that second half panned out!

However, the decision on Keane is an absolute horror show of a decision.

Tarkowski admitted his best friend is Keane and the veteran centre-back insisted that Keane had not ill intent in accidentally pulling the striker’s hair.

“I think it’s this referee’s second game in the Premier League so he obviously doesn’t know the players very well yet,” Tarkowski added.

“Some players might intentionally go out and do that but Michael Keane is definitely not that kind of person.”
