Michael Keane and Charly Alcaraz injury update ahead of Everton vs Brentford

On Friday morning, there was some positive news as Iliman Ndiaye passed his injury tests following a concern with the Senegal national side.

The winger will not be back with the squad until later in the month, but Moyes has shared an update on his other issues.

Speaking to the media from Finch Farm, the 62-year-old has issued the latest squad news ahead of the game on Sunday.

“Michael Keane’s got a chance, but I would say the other’s don’t have a chance,” said Moyes.

On Jack Grealish, Moyes said: “He’s much better. He looks much better, looks a lot fresher in the face and sharper. He had a really bad illness.”

James Tarkowski waxed lyrical about Jake O’Brien following his performance against Forest earlier in the week.

Keane’s return may, however, see the Ireland international return to right-back despite Nathan Patterson’s solid showing.

Keane should not be rushed back for Brentford

Having impressed again this season, Keane has earned a lot of praise over recent months for his showings on Merseyside.

Tuesday’s trip to the City Ground did show that Everton can cope without him, though.

Has this just become Everton’s best central defensive pairing? 👏

With O’Brein impressing at centre-back, there is simply no need for Moyes to rush the defender back into the starting XI.

Everton are keen to sign another right-back in January and that will only strengthen the options at centre-back with O’Brien back to his natural position.
