When Everton fans can expect a fresh update on John Textor’s takeover

It feels like, despite only picking up their first point over the weekend, that Everton’s season has truly got underway now.

It’s just a shame that they gave the rest of the Premier League a four-game head start in that regard.

However, with a favourable run of fixtures in the offing, Sean Dyche will feel quietly confident that he can restore faith in his managerial capabilities with a solid bout of form at the perfect time.

What has made their current winless period all the more frustrating is the off-pitch uncertainty that continues to plague this fanbase, left hopelessly in the dark whilst financial fears and takeover turmoil threaten.

Fortunately, the latter does seem set to reach a conclusion soon, with John Textor’s interest in Everton set to be reaffirmed.

Naturally, the American is facing some competition to acquire the Toffees, given how attractive a prospect the club is to certain suitors.

After all, despite the mountain of debt they owe, a brand-new stadium and an unwavering fanbase are the kind of assets that every prospective owner dreams of when acquiring a football club.

That would explain why Dan Friedkin has re-entered the race to buy Everton, and thus why Textor is scrambling to sell his Crystal Palace shares so desperately.

On the latter, one fan could not wait for another update from the man himself, and instead took to X to seek answers.

In asking journalist Alan Myers for his latest update, the Sky Sports reporter simply wrote: ‘I would expect some news in the next few days but what, I don’t know.’

What’s the latest on Everton’s takeover?

At this moment in time, it kind of feels like Everton’s takeover has hit a bit of a standstill due to numerous blockades.

After all, both John Textor and Dan Friedkin seem to have various hurdles to overcome if they are to buy Everton, and even then success is far from assured.

Previously, the latter of the two practically had the club in his hands, yet he turned it down after seeing what was underneath the surface.

His return has therefore confused many, wondering what has provoked him to give it another shot.

Textor, meanwhile, remains stuck trying to sell his Crystal Palace shares. Until that occurs, he cannot proceed.

And yet, reports have suggested that he somehow still has an exclusivity agreement with Farhad Moshiri, which would therefore negate Friedkin’s advances too.

All in all, this takeover continues to be a mess, and it’s only going to drag on further too.
