Where Everton sit in the Premier League table in 2026 – it shows regression under Moyes

Everton’s European hopes have completely collapsed in recent weeks.

David Moyes’ side have gone winless in their last six Premier League games, so they head into the final day of the season without anything to play for.

In fact, there is still a possibility that Everton could finish as low as 14th, which would be bitterly disappointing.

Many Toffees fans have urged Angus Kinnear to replace Moyes, and when we had a look at the table in 2026, it’s understandable why.

There is a clear regression under the Scotsman.

Everton’s form has dipped, but perhaps the extent of it may surprise some supporters.

In 2026, the Toffees have actually been worse than West Ham United, who are on the brink of relegation to the Championship.

Moyes’ side are 16th in the table this calendar year, which should be very alarming to the Friedkin Group.

Five wins in 18 would ordinarily put a manager, who was backed with a record spend last summer, under immense scrutiny within the boardroom.

However, Kinnear has already publicly backed Moyes this month, stating: “Whilst the media and other fanbases clamour for frequent managerial change, we value the stability that David brings and the ability this gives the whole club to plan for the long term.”

The concern is that there isn’t much sign of it getting any better next season, as Moyes constantly places his trust in the old guard.

So, there isn’t much growth in the ageing team that he keeps picking; in fact, it could get even worse.

The 63-year-old, for whatever reason, has failed to integrate the talented youngsters into the starting line-up.

Tyler Dibling, Adam Aznou, Carlos Alcaraz, and many more have all been left on the bench for most of the campaign.

There is also another thought process behind the loss of form this year, and it could be partly due to Jack Grealish’s injury.

Moyes was evidently far too reliant on Grealish and his creativity, with most of the forward play going through him.

Anyhow, surely the American investors will, at the very least, hold talks with Moyes about moving this team forward with a more balanced blend of youth and experience.

It’s clear the team needs to be freshened up and rotated much more frequently to maintain a high level, not just in quality, but also in fitness.
