Where Everton would be in the Premier League table if the season started from David Moyes’ appointment

Everton have enjoyed a pretty remarkable 2025 so far.

The first half of the 2024/25 season was a serious struggle for fans, with Sean Dyche overseeing many poor performances and results.

While the previous manager did have Everton relatively solid at the back, there was such a lack of bite in the final third.

Ultimately, Dyche’s football was unsustainable, and clearly he felt the same way as well, given interviews he’s done.

Dyche told The Friedkin Group he felt he took Everton as far as he could, and that forced the new owners’ hand.

In came David Moyes, and we’ve all see the terrific impact he’s had. But just how terrific has it actually been, and how have all the other teams compared to Everton since he came in?

Everton are now well on their way to securing Premier League safety for next season.

The Toffees are currently 17 points clear of the drop zone, and mathematical safety will soon be confirmed.

Moyes has been a revelation since he came in, with the Scot having remarkably only lost just two of his 13 Premier League games so far.

If the Premier League officially started when Moyes was reappointed by Everton, the Toffees would be sat in sixth place.

When Dyche was sacked, Everton were just a point above the relegation zone. Moyes has gone on to raise Everton to 17 points clear.

The future is bright under Moyes

There were some concerns when TFG plumped for Moyes as Dyche’s successor.

But the Scot has had an incredible impact. He just gets the club, and the supporters adore him.

Potentially, very exciting times lie ahead now, with the new stadium move and the new owners looking to get the club back to where it needs to be.

Hopefully, a productive summer will be had.

A finish in the top half would perhaps be a good target for Everton, although many would absolutely love to see a push for European football.
