Everton have now secured the signing of youngster Tyler Dibling from Southampton.

It may have required a lot of patience, but David Moyes has finally got his man ahead of the transfer deadline next week.

Some serious competition was beaten along the way, with Tottenham Hotspur keen to sign Dibling, as well as Crystal Palace.

However, it is Everton who the 19-year-old has put his trust in to develop his career.

Everton agreed a £35m deal for Dibling, which includes a further £5m in add-ons, but it is a far cry from the £50m Southampton originally asked for.

The Blues return to action on Wednesday night, and Alan Myers has now shared whether Dibling is expected to be eligible for the game.

Tyler Dibling could make his Everton debut vs Mansfield

Exciting times are ahead for the Toffees, with Theo Walcott comparing Dibling to Gareth Bale, on the back of his move to Merseyside.

It will be interesting to see how Moyes uses the 19-year-old in the opening weeks, given he is still so young.

Taking to social media, Myers has suggested that Dibling should be eligible to feature in Wednesday’s Carabao Cup game.

‘It appears Dibling will be eligible to play, if selected, in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday,’ he said as he shared a copy of the regulations.

Southampton have already played in this season’s Carabao Cup, but Dibling was not a part of their squad at the time.

The first couple of games of the season saw Dibling not play for Southampton, as he sought a move to Merseyside.

His demands finally paid off as the 19-year-old secured his dream move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, where he could make his debut on Wednesday night.

David Moyes delighted to have signed Dibling at Everton

Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes was wowed by Dibling last season when he saw him play against the Red Devils.

This signing marks a real coup for Everton, who have batted away some strong competition from other Premier League sides.

Southampton’s CEO warned Everton they wouldn’t sign Dibling following some of their earlier offers, but their persistence worked a charm.

And it is fair to say that Moyes has been left delighted with the £35m signing.

“We are really pleased to bring Tyler to Everton Football Club. He is a talented young English player with lots of potential,” said the 62-year-old.

“Tyler adds to our attacking options and we will support him in his future development.”
