Everton have lost their latest Premier League game against Nottingham Forest.

Sean Dyche had been hoping to oversee a win after positive results against Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal.

It was always going to be a tricky game against Nottingham Forest who have been flying high this season.

But it was a pitiful performance from Everton at Goodison Park, who just couldn’t threaten the visitors.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side were well organised and very hard to break down, and then made the most of their counter-attacks.

Chris Wood gave them the lead in the first-half, before Morgan Gibbs-White then put the game beyond Everton in the second.

There were plenty of poor performances, with Everton fans slating Vitaliy Mykolenko. But he certainly wasn’t the only one to struggle.

The latest performance prompted boos from some home fans at full-time.

And those that did boo couldn’t really be blamed, with Everton hopeless in the final third.

The Liverpool Echo noted that the Everton players did applaud most of the home fans despite the reception they were getting.

And the publication noted that Orel Mangala was the player who was last off the pitch, having given extra acknowledgment to the Goodison faithful.

How Orel Mangala fared against Nottingham Forest

This was certainly a performance to forget from Everton.

Forest were just superior in all aspects on the day, and under Nuno Espirito Santo they look on course to do special things this season.

There were only a couple of players who could emerge from today’s game with a little bit of credit.

Minutes played – 90
Touches – 71
Passes completed – 53/57 (93%)
Duels won – 5/9

Pat Nevin said that Jordan Pickford was ‘really good’ again, which has often been the case this season despite the team’s struggles.

But Mangala, the player who was last to leave the pitch today, also didn’t do too badly.

As per Sofascore, he completed 53/57 (93%) passes, and won 5/9 duels. He also made a couple of clearances and an interception.
