Alejandro Garnacho has joined Aston Villa on loan – and Everton officials may be privately delighted.

The winger has sealed a move to Unai Emery’s side, who have apparently included an obligation to buy which is based on appearances.

It comes days after Morgan Rogers moved in the opposite direction for a new British record fee.

And actually, this may well be welcome news for Everton recruitment officials.

Because quite possibly, this may mean they won’t come calling for Iliman Ndiaye.

Garnacho to Aston Villa is good news for Everton over Iliman Ndiaye

In recent days, it was reported by Fabrizio Romano that Villa had made enquiries over Iliman Ndiaye.

But now that they have landed Garnacho, it might mean there is less of a need to move for the Senegal international.

Ndiaye has played most of his games for Everton out on the left side.

Garnacho played the vast majority of his 43 games for Chelsea out on the left side, and he also played left wing most of the time for Manchester United.

Of course, Ndiaye does have the capacity to play on the right and in the middle.

But this signing by Villa surely now decreases their need for a player like Everton’s talisman.

That said, there are obviously other clubs that could still come in for Ndiaye, with Romano suggesting that there are plenty of other eyes on the player.

With Crysencio Summerville moving to Al-Hilal for £68 million, Everton have simply got to demand top dollar for Ndiaye if they find themselves needing to sell.

He is a considerably better player than Summerville, so the Toffees surely have to be selling in the £80-90 million range if it comes to it.

In an ideal world, though, there won’t be much going on with Ndiaye and he can come back focused ready to help Everton try to get into Europe.

However, Ndiaye’s comments about wanting Champions League football felt like a bit of an invitation.

So while Villa might not come calling, there’s a chance someone else – like Arsenal or Manchester United – might.
