Chris Sutton has compared Beto to Alan Shearer.
Speaking after Everton’s defeat to Arsenal, the pundit claimed that even Shearer would have struggled in Beto’s position at Goodison Park.
The 25-year-old arrived on Merseyside from Udinese in a £25.75 million deal last month and he got his career off to a great start when he scored on his debut after coming off the bench in the win over Doncaster Rovers.
Beto went onto make his Premier League debut days later and put on a really promising performance against Sheffield United, despite not pulling the ball in the back of the net.

However, the Portuguese forward has struggled for much action in front of goal since and failed to have a single shot against Arsenal at the weekend.
The Gunners dominated possession but Everton were unable to provide Beto with any service when they were on the ball, leaving him stranded at the top of the pitch.
Sutton has admitted that it really isn’t the attacker’s fault that he hasn’t been given many chances to score, claiming that even Shearer wouldn’t want to be in his position.
Beto ‘needs to have more opportunities created for him’
Speaking on the It’s All Kicking Off! Podcast, Sutton said: “I think Beto did well in an Udinese side that weren’t particularly dominant on the ball, hence why Sean Dyche has signed him.
“The issue for Beto at the weekend against Arsenal, Alan Shearer wouldn’t have wanted to play up front for Everton, because he barely got any service.

“I think when you look at Everton earlier in the season and they created a lot of opportunities and they didn’t take them. Beto needs to have more opportunities created for him.”
Everton were never expected to be all over Arsenal, though they also looked incapable of creating their own opportunities.
The Toffees have games against Brentford, Bournemouth and Luton coming up and if they are unable to provide Beto with any service then there will be huge concerns.
