As per TEAMtalk, Chelsea are looking to sign a new goalkeeper this summer, and they are looking at six players to replace Robert Sanchez.
Xabi Alonso starts work as their new manager this summer, and he is said to value someone who brings ‘elite-level experience’.
Chelsea have a long-standing admiration for Pickford, who is one of six names Chelsea are looking at.

- Mike Maignan
- Marco Carnesecchi
- Diogo Costa
Sources at Chelsea are said to accept that signing Pickford would be ‘extremely difficult’, with Everton determined to keep the player, who is seen as one of the most important figures in the squad.
Pickford is also very happy at Everton, and there are no suggestions he’d push to leave.

Chelsea may well admire Pickford and the appointment of Alonso could see them act aggressively in the transfer market, but a move for the England number one feels highly unlikely.
Pickford – who cost £30 million (via BBC Sport) – signed a new contract back in October.

He’s adored here, and there is already a feeling with him that he’ll remain at the club until he retires.
At some point next year, he could actually become Everton’s highest Premier League appearance-maker, which would be quite the achievement.
We will see if Chelsea try to test Everton’s resolve. But the Toffees are bound to dismiss any approach led by Alonso.
