Everton played out a 1-1 draw with Brentford tonight in the Premier League – and Yoane Wissa made an admission after the game.
The brilliant Jake O’Brien equalised in the closing stages for the visitors, after Brentford took the lead just before half-time through Wissa.
The nature of that goal will have really annoyed David Moyes.
A long throw came in from the right side and no one met the ball before it bounced. Bryan Mbeumo headed it against the crossbar, before Wissa turned it in.
Everton had plenty of chances on the night though.
It was an unusually poor night for Beto in front of goal, with Everton’s centre-forward missing three one-on-one opportunities. Some Everton fans suggested he’d become the Beto of old after his tough night.
After the game, Wissa made an admission about Everton.

Brentford star Yoane Wissa admits Everton were tricky to play against

Everton really did have a lot of opportunities tonight and it was just a shame that Beto left his shooting boots at home. In the end, Everton had 14 efforts at goal, but only four were on target.
Mark Flekken played really well for the hosts. Without him, this could have been ugly for the Bees.
Speaking on TNT Sports after the game, Wissa gave his thoughts about the Toffees, admitting they were a ‘tricky’ opponent, and that they don’t normally face as many shots.
Asked if it was concerning the amount of chances the Bees gave up to Everton, Wissa said: “It’s not something we’re used to. Usually, we are strong. But the way they play, sometimes it was a bit tricky.
“Sometimes you need a top goalkeeper, which is something we have. That’s why I said before we need to give (Flekken) big credit.”
Everton’s draw with Brentford is a good result
This was a bizarre game, because Everton could genuinely have put Brentford to the sword.
It was an off night for Beto and hopefully, he’ll be able to put this behind him quickly and get back among the goals.

But this is still a good result for Everton.
Brentford are a tough team for anyone in the Premier League, and of course at the moment, Moyes has several players out through injury.
Everton at least showed good character to get back into the game and to stretch the unbeaten run to seven games in the Premier League.
