Andre Gomes may not be at the club anymore, but the impact he made has certainly been left on Youssef Chermiti.

Everton have improved massively over the past month, conceding just once in four Premier League matches, as well as scoring five goals.

The draw with Manchester City is a sign of how far the Toffees have come over the past four weeks, as there was a point where Sean Dyche‘s exit looked inevitable.

Scoring goals is still an issue with Dominic Calvert-Lewin stuck on two goals and Beto on just the single goal, but the January transfer window is around the corner.

However, a striker already at the club, Youssef Chermiti, has been speaking about his introduction to the club and what Andre Gomes said to him.

Youssef Chermiti shares the kind words of Andre Gomes after joining Everton

Andre Gomes appeared 114 times at Everton, scoring four goals and assisting seven.

He left Goodison Park in the summer after the expiration of his contract and now plays his football in France.

Speaking to the Athletic, Youssef Chermiti shed light on an interaction between himself and Andre Gomes after making the move to Everton.

“It’s great. Straight after I joined, (former Everton player) Andre (Gomes) came over and said: ‘If you need something, I’m here — enjoy this massive club.'”

Youssef Chermiti’s chances at Everton

Youssef Chermiti really impressed Sean Dyche in pre-season, but he’s not had the chance to showcase his qualities since picking up an injury.

He’s already returned for the Under-21 side but is yet to feature in the first-team, despite being on the substitutes’ bench in the last two games.

Armando Broja has looked rather exciting in his limited appearances since returning and Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been preferred at the pinnacle of the attack.

Beto continues to be linked with a move away, which could make an exit for Chermiti extremely unlikely, as Dyche won’t want just two fit strikers with Broja and Calvert-Lewin’s injury records.
