Everton are in desperate need of attacking reinforcements.

David Moyes has worked wonders with this Everton squad at his disposal, steering them well clear of the relegation zone, with safety secured.

But the goals are now really starting to dry up, having lost two on the bounce and winning one of their last nine games.

Beto, who enjoyed a fine run of form in February, is now on an eight-game goal drought, whilst Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been plagued by injury.

With that said, Moyes is eyeing a move for Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap, who’s netted 12 times in the league this term.

Adding goals to midfield is also vital and the Toffees are targeting Burnley’s top scorer Josh Brownhill, who’s now given the latest on his future.

Everton target Josh Brownhill responds when asked about his future

Everton considered a late transfer for Josh Brownhill in the winter transfer window, but ultimately, they decided to keep their powder dry.

Now, Brownhill is entering the final couple of months of his contract at Turf Moor, so he’s set to become a free agent.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Brownhill’s Burnley teammate Ashley Barnes asked him whether he’s going to stay.

Barnes: “So are you staying or leaving?”

Brownhill: “Yeah that’s the question mate.”

Barnes: “it’s hard isn’t it?”

Reporter jumps in: “I’m glad you asked that Ash! You did say you were going to consider your future once promotion was assured, so what’s the latest situation?”

Brownhill: “Yeah, now we’re obviously going into the summer and see what we can sort out. But there’s two big games to win and hopefully win the league.

“At the end of the season, I think we’re going to sit down and go through it then and hopefully we can get things sorted.”

Sounds like Brownhill wants to stay at Burnley

Burnley secured automatic promotion back to the Premier League earlier this month, so they’re in a much stronger position to retain Brownhill’s signature.

And, it very much sounded like the 29-year-old’s priority is to stay with the Clarets, too, so Everton may have to look elsewhere.

The Toffees have been looking at Tomas Soucek, who is threatening to leave West Ham United after becoming frustrated by his lack of game time.

Soucek has a great relationship with Moyes, with the pair spending four years together in East London, so it wouldn’t at all be surprising if that transfer materialises.
