£29m Chelsea star makes transfer preference clear after Everton interest

Everton are in desperate need of signings with the Premier League opener just under four weeks away.

Currently, David Moyes has just 17 players who have Premier League experience in his squad, and drastic changes are needed.

This figure needs to increase by at least six, and Everton fans are worried about four players being signed.

The Friedkin Group needed to act quicker earlier in the summer as Everton’s £100m budget has hardly been touched.

Now, another target has labelled their preference, and fans will be praying a player has finally sided with an Everton move.

Chelsea star Carney Chukwuemeka’s preference after Everton interest

Carney Chukwuemeka has been on Everton’s radar for some time now.

The interest really began when Moyes came through the door, as the Scotsman appears to be a big fan of the 21-year-old.

Chukwuemeka was open to joining Everton in January, but now that ship has sailed, a summer move could be on the cards once again.

It’s been made clear that Enzo Maresca isn’t interested in Chukwuemeka, but it seems as though the midfielder isn’t keen on Everton, as another club is in the way.

The 21-year-old had a loan spell at Borussia Dortmund in the second half of the season, and Telegraph journalist Mike McGrath has now been saying he is ‘prioritising’ a move back to Dortmund this summer.

It’s clear what Moyes wants for Everton after Chukwuemeka rejection

Another rejection, and another target out of the picture.

It’s becoming the story of Everton’s window, and it must be frustrating as a Toffees fan to see the continuous failures.

But what can be taken from the hopes of Chukwuemeka is exactly the profile Moyes is looking at, as after Everton’s interest in Tomas Soucek, Moyes will no doubt still be searching for the tall, physical midfielder who can provide in an attacking sense, as Chukwuemeka ticks those boxes.

The profile is clearly there, but The Friedkins are having trouble finding that suitable player for Moyes, as the wait goes on for another signing.
