How Carney Chukwuemeka really feels about a move to Everton

Everton are potentially set for a very busy next few days as the transfer deadline approaches.

David Moyes is looking to make a couple of additions for the club, with the Scot contending with several injuries at the moment.

Everton’s situation is looking a lot healthier after back-to-back wins in the Premier League.

But the Toffees need additions in the coming days, otherwise the team could get pulled back into a relegation dogfight.

Alan Shearer stated Everton needed one or two players to avoid relegation, and few would disagree with the Premier League’s all-time leading goalscorer.

One player who’s been mentioned as a possible incoming for Everton is Carney Chukwuemeka, and today an interesting claim has been made about the Chelsea man.

Last week it was suggested Everton were keen on signing Chukwuemeka this month.

But it would take Chelsea agreeing to cancel the loan of Armando Broja, who has picked up another serious injury.

Everton and Chelsea remain in talks over that situation, but it’s been suggested Everton could seek to swap Broja for another Chelsea player on loan.

Kieran Dewsbury-Hall is also of interest to Everton, so it will be fascinating to see if either makes a move to Goodison Park in the coming days.

But earlier today there was an update on Chukwuemeka from TEAMtalk’s Harry Watkinson, who believes the midfielder actually would be open to making the move to Goodison.

There is further interest though from Juventus.

Chukwuemeka could be a cracking addition for Everton

It will be very interesting to see which midfielder Everton plump for in the coming days.

But Chukwuemeka would not be a bad addition at all.

The star, who signed for Chelsea for £20 million (BBC Sport) from Aston Villa, is someone who would being both power and technicality to Everton’s engine room.

As per Football Talent Scout, he is a ‘midfielder that imposes himself on the pitch with his physicality, work rate, energy and determination’, which surely suggests him as being ideal for Moyes.

He’s also ‘extremely difficult to knock off the ball thanks to his size, technique and good close control’, and can operate in several different midfield roles.

Graham Potter also branded him ‘a big powerful boy’, with ‘exciting potential’ (via Evening Standard).

James Garner and Tim Iroegbunam have both returned from injury recently but will be lacking match sharpness. So it will be in Everton’s interest to get a new midfielder in before the deadline – and Chukwuemeka would be an exciting addition if the clubs can sort out the Broja situation.
