It will be a very busy summer at Everton in terms of player turnover – but one man who’s been linked with an exit is reportedly expected to stay at the club.
Several stars will depart the club in the next transfer window.
A number are coming to the end of their current contracts. Some will not become permanent Everton players after their loan spells. And others will be sold.
It is exciting for fans to consider how different the squad will look next season.
The Friedkin Group will no doubt want to stamp their authority in their first summer window, and be keen to give David Moyes the tools he needs to succeed.
It’ll be very interesting to see who Everton go after in terms of new players.
But also intriguing as to who is kept around.
Just recently there has been some more speculation about the future of Everton striker Beto, and now a new claim has been made.
Beto expected to stay at Everton after recent new exit claim
Over the weekend, it was suggested that Beto is attracting interest from several clubs ahead of the summer.
Apparently, several sides from top five leagues in Europe have been gathering information on Beto, who was claimed to be ready to assess his options.
Beto – who cost Everton £30 million all in (BBC Sport) – made a brilliant start to life under Moyes, taking advantage of injuries to Armando Broja and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
The goals have dried up a little bit in the last few weeks.
But it looks as though Beto will likely be an Everton player next season as things currently stand.
TEAMtalk have reported today that the Guinea-Bissau international is ‘expected’ to remain at the club beyond the summer.
Everton should keep Beto, but still spend big on new striker
Beto has shown this season he has a lot to offer.
It was criminal how little he played under Sean Dyche, and to see him play a big part in Everton pulling away from the relegation zone so emphatically was great to see, as he’s a player who very obviously cares a lot about succeeding here.
It’s good news that Beto is now expected to stay beyond the summer.
That said, Everton still need to try and bring in a top quality striker to compete with him.
The likelihood is that Dominic Calvert-Lewin will leave Everton and Broja will return to Chelsea. So Everton will need another body.
But the club definitely ought to try and bring in someone who could potentially start and not just serve as Beto’s understudy.
Liam Delap is a target for Everton, and at £30 million, he would make a brilliant addition for Moyes.
