Former Everton winger Anthony Gordon has now completed his blockbuster move to Barcelona.

Following his transfer to Newcastle United, Everton included a sell-on clause in Gordon’s deal, which is set to earn them a tidy windfall from the latest deal.

Gordon touched down at the Camp Nou earlier in the week and surprised many when he spoke Spanish at his unveiling.

That was a disgraceful performance from Everton… something has to change! 😤

With a 15 per cent sell-on clause included, the true extent of Everton’s windfall has now been revealed.

Everton to receive almost £7m from Anthony Gordon’s Barcelona move

Thomas Tuchel urged Bayern Munich to sign Gordon, but the 25-year-old wanted his dream move to join the reigning Spanish champions.

A report from The Athletic has claimed that Everton are in line for around £3.8m from their 15 per cent sell-on clause, but there could be additional payments to come.

It is suggested a further £3m in solidarity payments could follow for Everton from the deal.

Gordon’s agent had been discussing a move away from Newcastle for months, which is not something that will surprise people on Merseyside.

The winger’s departure from Everton was a messy one, and he has not covered himself in glory on Tyneside either.

Everton have put their own saga behind them now, with a cool multi-million windfall helping to heal any of the scars left behind by Gordon’s departure in 2023.

Theo Walcott claimed Everton restricted Gordon’s talent, but the forward now has nothing holding him back as he will be set to play for arguably the biggest club in the world.

With Everton’s finances in a much better place than they have been over recent years, receiving this windfall should hopefully go straight towards the transfer fund for this summer.
