Everton are now in the middle of this year’s final international break with a small cushion on the relegation zone.

It has been a shaky start to the campaign for Sean Dyche’s side but they have made it to November without being stuck in the bottom three.

But that could change very quickly with the gap to Crystal Palace only three points and with some seriously difficult games to come.

However, better times look to be on the horizon for Everton with The Friedkin Group receiving FA approval in their takeover bid.

And the American businessman could have the keys to Goodison Park just in time for the January transfer window.

Alan Myers shares Everton January transfer plans

Considering Everton have struggled so far this season, the proposed takeover could provide them with a real lift for the second half of the season.

Dyche has been slammed by some Everton fans which could put severe pressure on the manager’s shoulders.

But there is going to be an opportunity to strengthen the squad in January with Alan Myers claiming there are already plans in place.

“There’s a transfer window plan in place either way I’m sure,” Myers said on X in relation to The Friedkin Group’s takeover development.

Everton are believed to be interested in Tariq Lamptey ahead of January with the right-back looking for a new club.

But it will be intriguing to see what difference the Friedkin’s arrival on Merseyside would make to the transfer funds for the upcoming window.

Everton need to spend in January transfer window

It has been far from a convincing start to the season for the Toffees despite an improved run of form over the last month.

Everton have been boosted by Jarrad Branthwaite’s return from injury which will strengthen their defence but there are still issues.

Vitaliy Mykolenko has been slammed at left-back for some of his performances with Everton also enduring injury issues on the other side of defence.

Having avoided PSR breaches again over the summer, it will be interesting to see whether the proposed takeover would actually make much difference to the transfer plans at Goodison.

Either way, a daunting run of festive fixtures could pile the misery on Everton ahead of the January window.
