Everton still have a lot of work to do to get their squad in order ahead of the 2025/26 season.
It has been a fairly quiet summer so far on the incomings front, with only two new faces arriving.
Thierno Barry and Mark Travers have come in, while Carlos Alcaraz turned his loan move permanent after a successful stint in the second half of 2024/25.
The new Premier League season is now just one month away, and time is of the essence for Everton.
With pre-season having now commenced, this is a vital period for new signings to settle.
David Moyes is thought to be prioritising a right winger, and earlier today there was a claim relating to that particular position.
Everton are considering a bid for Takefusa Kubo from Real Sociedad – and now Alan Myers has shared what he knows of the situation.
Alan Myers shares what he knows about Everton and Takefusa Kubo

Kubo is a player who has had a lot of eyes on him ever since he made a move to Real Madrid back in 2019.
It didn’t work out for him there, with Kubo never actually playing a game for them.
But at Sociedad he has started to realise his potential.
He’s made 137 appearances for them since joining in 2022, scoring 23 goals and making 18 assists.
In the season just gone, he scored seven goals and made four assists in 52 appearances, and now clubs are looking to prise Kubo away from Sociedad.
Everton are thought to have made an approach for Kubo, but Alan Myers has played down that claim.
Earlier this evening he was asked by a fan whether there was any interest in the Japan international, to which he replied: “I think interest, not sure anything is progressing.”
Kubo could light up the Hill Dickinson Stadium
So seemingly Everton are not particularly close to signing Kubo just at this moment in time.
But hopefully this one does progress because Kubo is an exciting player who is clearly capable of making things happen in the final third.
It hasn’t been easy for him, carrying the famous ‘Japanese Messi’ nickname.
But he’s done very well in recent times, and The Coaches Voice say he is someone who is ‘adept at beating opponents and progressing the ball up the pitch’.
He also has ‘explosive touches, rapid acceleration and, when required, deceptive touches’, and his body movements ‘all contribute to his impressive 1v1 ability’.
After watching the likes of Jack Harrison and Jesper Lindstrom struggle on that right wing, Everton fans could well be brought to their feet by Kubo at the Hill Dickinson Stadium if he signed.
