Everton are now balancing the new Premier League campaign as well as the final week of this summer’s transfer window.

Putting Everton‘s dreadful start to the new season aside, it has been a positive summer for the Toffees with plenty of working being done behind the scenes.

Sean Dyche has now welcomed five new faces through the doors at Goodison Park this summer with Kevin Thelwell doing his best to bolster the squad.

The latest of those signings is Asmir Begovic who is returning for another season after leaving Merseyside just one year ago.

There have also been outgoings from Merseyside with Everton one of the sides who were facing the PSR deadline back in June.

But there is still time for more players to depart the club over the coming days ahead of the transfer deadline next week.

Alan Myers shares whether he expects Dominic Calvert-Lewin to leave Everton

It has certainly been a busy summer for Everton with John Textor now in an exclusive period with Farhad Moshiri to push through his takeover bid.

Despite the ongoing takeover saga, Everton continue to get on with their business in the transfer window with players coming and going.

And there is one player which remains at risk of potentially being sold before the deadline as his contract situation looms in the background.

Taking to social media, Myers has provided his thoughts on whether he is expecting Dominic Calvert-Lewin to depart before next week’s deadline.

When asked if he thinks the Everton striker will depart before the deadline, Myers replied: “My gut tells me he will stay.”

This comes amid the striker’s contract debacle on Merseyside with Calvert-Lewin having just one year remaining on his current deal at Everton.

Manchester United could be an option for Calvert-Lewin

With such little time remaining on his current deal, Everton are at risk of losing Calvert-Lewin next summer on a free.

The Toffees have brought in Iliman Ndiaye over the summer but it was Calvert-Lewin who was in from the start in the dismal defeat on the weekend.

But this weekend could potentially prove to be Calvert-Lewin’s final game as an Everton player given the window closes before Everton’s next game after the trip to Tottenham.

And Fabrizio Romano has claimed Calvert-Lewin could well be an option for Manchester United in the final days of the market.
